Lexie is a 4 year old Chocolate Lab mix. She was an owner surrender when the owner could not afford her vet bill after Lexie was injured by another dog in the household. Lexie has come a long way and gets along with her housemates of a Chihuahua mix, a senior large lab, and 2 cats. She has, however, been reactive and/or vocal toward visiting dogs on occasion, and toward rabbits, squirrels, and people with or without dogs walking by. Lexie truly is a sweetheart who just wants to love and be loved. She loves sleeping/napping near her person. She likes her toys, and likes to play tug, but she’s not big on fetch. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and only wants to be a good girl. She is not food protective, but can be otherwise territorial. She loves to hug and be hugged. She gets her zoomies, so a fenced area would be ideal. She has done well with a couple of daily walks and visits to a dog park, though. She has been around kids with no incidents. Older kids would be the better match. I’ll be happy to tell you about her last several months with me!
